Keskiyo threw a right old strop at 5:45 this morning when I was trying to leave ... without him. I woke up at 4:30am and couldn't get back to sleep so after tossing and turning and barely dozing for a while I decided to get up earlier than usual in the hope of getting a bit longer for my walk. But apparently a 2-year-old dog can throw a temper tantrum to rival a 2-year-old human in terms of volume and embarrassment to care-giver. Normally when he has a little fit about something I try to ignore him and so not reward the unwanted behaviour. I know he will grow out of his demanding little puppy-ish ways... eventually. Patience, patience. But, like every mother of a toddler has learned, there are times when you just cannot ignore the beloved little one's outburst. Like on a Monday morning before the sun is up - before the birds have even started properly. My poor neighbours.
Anyway, I managed to shut him up and convince him he was being left behind today and finally got out of the house 11 minutes earlier than I usually do. Yep, after getting up 40 minutes earlier than usual.
I definitely need to be Cesar'ed. Perhaps we all do.
After punching in a day at work, we all wandered out for another leisurely stroll of 1.5 miles or so in the sunshine. After all, the tantrum-throwing baby and grand dame of the family needed their walks too. And so did Mr J too, of course, being neither baby nor dame.
And while I'm feeling lazy as can be, I leave you with this, about which I have nothing to say except, possibly, does that boy have springs in his feet? Now wouldn't that be cool!
Distance - 5 miles + 1.5
Time - 1:40
Dog(s) - Neka
Weather - sunny
Could I do another 5? - Unlikely
