yesterday

I've been thinking a lot about that scary El Camino del Rey path in the video that I posted yesterday. I've watched it a few times now and I'm almost starting to feel as if I have done the walk. Which is, perhaps, bonkers. But there you are.

Yesterday I said that I wouldn't do that hike in a million years, but today I think that I might. Under the right circumstances. If I was a bit younger. And had better balance, obviously.

Granted, I wouldn't do it carrying a video camera - or carrying anything at all, except possibly a parachute. Neither would I be scurrying along that narrow ledge like a mountain goat as the guy with the camera seems to. But I can just imagine creeping along, holding that wire in my sweaty hand, peeping over the edge, squinting in the bright sunshine and feeling the breeze lifting my hair. Oh, the exhiliration - what an adventure!

See, it's almost as good as going to Spain and doing the walk myself. I wouldn't be able to take a dog with me, of course. And I'd have to be feeling quite a bit less lazy than I do today.

Distance - 2.5 miles
Time - 1 hour
Dog(s) - all
Weather - mainly cloudy
Could I do another 5? - unlikely
